A Changing Landscape in Education

I recently came across this article showing that enrolments in special assistance schools have surged by 276% between 2016 and 2024 far outpacing mainstream schools. It doesn’t surprise me. So many young people are struggling to engage with a system that often isn’t built for them especially those who are neurodivergent anxious or managing unique learning needs.

For me this is personal. I’ve had first-hand experience with my step children navigating school refusal and the daily challenges that come with it. I’ve also seen it through my teaching career.

That’s why I started Think Bright Education. It’s not about being an expert or having all the answers it’s about offering support where I can through personal and special goal setting and a holistic approach.

I focus on:

• Helping students re-engage through flexible online sessions and Passion Projects

• Providing learning intervention that is structured but accessible

• Using visuals routines and remote tools to make learning feel achievable and positive.

This is just one part of what I do in my business, but it’s a part I care deeply about.
